Harsimrat takes stock of Nanhi Chhan campaign

Member of Parliament from Bathinda, Harsimrat Kaur Badal, today distributed sewing machines and saplings to girls in the villages of Behman Diwana, Kothe Natha Singh, Kothe Inder Singh, Balahar Mehna and Kothe Budh Singh where sewing centres have been established under the "Nanhi Chaan" campaign.

A sculpture of a baby girl in a palm of hand depicted the need for protecting girls and prevention of female foeticide. Prepared by an amateur artist, Ramakant, the sculpture was presented recently to Bathinda MP and founder of Nanhi Chhan, Harsimrat Kaur Badal, who was here to attend a function regarding spreading awareness against female foeticide organised at Shree Geeta Mandir.

Fazilka, September 3,2015 : The Union Minister for Food Processing Industry, Mrs Harsimrat Kaur Badal today said that the Nanhi Chhan project will spread its wings percolating down to each and every village of the state. Nanhi Chhan, which has already succeeded in improving sex ration in society and is churning out skilled and independent women, will now have its presence felt across the state. The project currently has 90 centers and has taught 5000 women so far.
